Based on the zinc content, it also mainly has two types: hot-dipped galvanized after welding and hot-dipped galvanized before welding. These two types are quite different in function as well as cost:
Hot dipped galvanized after welding. If with this type of treatment, the whole product will be in a hot-dipped galvanized finish. The zinc coating will be MIN 270gsm, the highest level in zinc content. This means it will obtain the best performance in anti-rust. But with the extra process, its cost will be higher a lot.
Hot dipped galvanized before welding. With this type, the raw material will be hot-dipped galvanized wire and won’t need the extra hot-dipped galvanizing step as the other type. Therefore, the cost will be lower a lot. Bu in the same type, the welding point will be without the galvanizing treatment. And the zinc content will also be dependent on the raw material. Usually 40 – 245 gsm.
